Flow-control selection

Do not substitute one rated flow control for another

Drain-line and brine-line flow controls are sized parts. Their number, color, and rated flow are tied to tank diameter, media, injector, plumbing, and the manufacturer's application data. A larger or smaller opening changes regeneration performance.

Read the existing marking and confirm it against the valve service manual. Drain-line restrictions can also contribute to failed brine draw or poor backwash, so diagnose the complete flow path before ordering a control solely from the symptom.
