Autotrol 255, 263, and 268 Parts Identification Guide

The Autotrol 255 and Performa 263/268 valves can use similar Logix controllers, but the controller does not determine every valve-body part. The Pentair service manual provides separate valve illustrations and separate parts tables.
Identify the valve body first
The manual illustrates the 255 valve and the Performa valve separately. Confirm the valve-body shape, inlet and outlet arrangement, drain connection, injector location, and label. A 700-series controller on top of the valve is not enough to distinguish a 255 from a 263 or 268 body.
Camshafts differ by valve family
The 255 parts table lists standard cam 1235353. The Performa 263/268 table lists standard cam 1235352. These numbers differ by one digit but belong to different valve families; preserve every digit when searching.
Valve discs and service kits
The valve routes water through cam-operated flapper discs. The catalog reference 1041175 is documented for the 263/268 family. The service manual separately lists disc-kit references by valve configuration. Match the exact kit number and valve body instead of assuming every Autotrol flapper set is interchangeable.
Injector, refill, and screen components
Injector size is application-specific and linked to tank diameter and flow requirements. The manual lists injector cap 1000269, screen-cap assembly 1000226, and regenerant refill controller 1000222 among the service references, but the surrounding valve and flow configuration must still be checked.
